Techkriti is the annual international, technological and entrepreneurial festival organized by the students of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Techkriti was first held in 1995, and has since grown into one of the largest technical festivals in Asia. Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with IIT Kanpur hosted two-days long prelim, the Technocruise under the banner of Techkriti. Technocruise is the pre-festival Zonal round event of Techkriti which comprises of Preliminary rounds of some major competitions and professional technical workshops to enhance the learning of students and to encourage the zeal of the participants. A surging participation of students from various technical institutes across Jaipur was observed. There were two sets of events, viz. workshops and competitions were organized. Catering the need of current demands of market, the workshop consisted of the most sought after topics which included ethical hacking, sixth sense robotics, android app development and Internet of Things. The category of competition comprised of four events namely, IARC, Maneuver, Rule the sky and Soccon.
Mr. Shashikant Ray, HOD (E&C) of RIET, welcomed Mr. Anand Singh Shekhawat, founder of Tourepedia during Techtalk organized by Techriti at Chotu Ram Seminar Hall, RIET, Jaipur. The ‘Techtalk’ seminar addressed by Mr. Anand Singh Shekhawat quenched the fundamental as well as technical quest of students about entrepreneurship.
Workshop attendees were awarded with a certificate of participation from IIT, Kanpur and the winners of competitions were nominated for representing their college in Techkriti which is to be held at the premises of IIT Kanpur in the following month. Through the well-coordinated management of the RIET’s, faculties’ in-charge, campus ambassadors and campus representatives, the event was made a success.
