Welcome to the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur. The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department is one of the oldest department of the institute which was established in the year 2000. Presently, the department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate Courses with the specialization in Power Systems in Electrical Engineering. The Department has well equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines laboratory, Power Systems Laboratory, Control Systems laboratory, Electrical Measurements laboratory, Power Electronics & Drives Laboratory, Electrical workshop & Computer laboratory. The faculty members has been active in teaching and research activities and regularly producing research publications in international and national journals and conferences.

Students passed out from this department get excellent placements through campus selection both in the core area industries and for software companies of national and international level. Alumni of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department are very well placed in all sectors and have reached to the top level positions in the state/centre government and private organizations

Electrical Engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, so it is always evergreen in terms of scope and job prospects and is the heart of whole engineering discipline. Nowadays, we see Electronics playing an important role in the implementation and control of electrical machines. Keeping this fact in mind, the course have transformed from core electrical engineering into a fusion of Electrical and Electronics and has been renamed as Electrical and Electronics Engineering or simply EEE.

Our faculty members are experts in the areas they teach. Not only do they provide a solid grounding in the academic theories and concepts of their specialty, they also provide the students challenges facing their discipline. They provide the students the right balance of theory and practice. We emphasize team work to give opportunity to each student to benefit from the ideas and intelligence of their classmates.

Department is making best efforts to produce highly trained and capable engineers who can take up the challenges of the real world. The quality of academic instructions, conduct guidelines and college activities are designed to produce competent and successful engineers. In the Department, the focus is on preparing professional engineers.

Electrical Engineers are needed in all manufacturing units. All major companies of public and private sector such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, and Power Corporations are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers for their projects. Electrical Engineers also find job prospects in Design Industries, Production plants, Natural gas plants, Petroleum as well as in steel and chemical plants. Many premier Educational and Research Institutions regularly recruit electrical engineers as graduate Engineer trainees and Management Trainees to work on research projects. Electrical Engineers can also get a job in Major players in Public Sector such as Indian Railways, Armed forces (Technical Branch) and also in Thermal and Nuclear power Corporation Limited.

Men have needed and used energy at an increasing rate for his sustenance and wellbeing ever since he came on the earth. Due to this a lot of energy resources have been exhausted and wasted. Proposal for the utilisation of waste energy of foot power with human locomotion is very much relevant and important for highly populated countries like India and China where the roads, railway stations, bus stands, temples etc. are all overcrowded and millions of people move around the clock.

Today the most pressing issue that is engulfing our world is the environmental pollution. Due to inconsiderate activities and also by uncontrolled exploitation of nature by humans on the pretext of industrialization, modernization and urbanization, considerable environmental imbalance has resulted in the creation of unusual climatic conditions, extinction of land and marine species, and an imbalance in the ecosystems. Air pollution presence in the atmosphere. Industrialization has led to air getting more and more polluted over the years. Industries, vehicles, increase in the population, and urbanization are some of the major factors responsible for air pollution.





This lab is the basic need of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as well as all other Engineering branches. In this lab the students studied about AC/DC conversion process. The students become familiar with the basic components of electronics like Transistor, Diode, LED, JFET and MOSFET etc. that are most commonly used in many types of instruments. They also learn about the basic electrical connections used in house wiring and brief knowledge about Ceiling fan, Motors and various types of lamps etc.



This is one of the core labs in electrical engineering where experiments like load test on various machines, speed control tests, open circuit tests, short circuit tests, etc are carried out and also wide variety of practical are performed here with combination of different rotating machines. The laboratory is also used for research activities in machines and to carry out project works on energy conversion. In this lab students perform basic experiments on DC series, shunt and compound motors, generators, Transformers, Inductions motors and Synchronous machines.

A universal machine lab is capable of performing over 24 experiments on dc motors and generators, synchronous generators, synchronous motors and single phase/three phase induction motors. A transformer bench facilitates more than 6 experiments on single phase/three phase transformer



This laboratory provides Hands-on experience in designing and implementation of digital logic circuits. The laboratory experiments involve the design and testing of digital systems using small and medium scale integrated circuits. Each standard setup in the lab has basic trainer kits and IC testers. This laboratory is featured with laboratory equipment such as, digital trainer board, logic probe, IC tester, digital meters, data switches, and wide ranges of digital ICs of TTL and CMOS series.

Students do experiments on designing combinational and sequential circuits. Student build-up projects on digital control circuits, digital voltmeter, digital timer etc. Digital Electronics Lab is fully equipped with the required instruments such as C.R.O., multi meters, signal generator etc. to conduct experiments with digital ICs.



The primary objective of Power Electronics Lab is to provide the students with a basic knowledge of various semiconductor devices for their industrial application. The laboratory work involves design, construction, and control of power electronics converters including DC-DC, DC-AC, and AC-DC converters using various semiconductors.

Students become able to explain principal, operation, characteristics and applications of different power electronic devices and resonant converters and power supplies. Students can explain principal, operation of different Induction motor drives and their applicable areas.



Electrical Drives and Control has become the most essential lab now in days in the electrical motors and other rotating machines. Students learn how to control the speed of various electrical drives using semiconductor devices. Control of electrical drives is also necessary because all the functions accomplished by the drives are mainly transient operations i.e the change in terminal voltage, current, etc are huge which may damage the motor temporarily or permanently.

Students become able to learn the basic operation of stepper motors and switched-reluctance motor drives. Students can learn about the energy efficiency of electric drives and inverter-motor interactions.



The Project Lab is an open lab where all students have ready access to basic electronic test equipment and instrumentation. The primary purpose of the lab is to provide the space and resources needed by students to complete their Projects. The lab also serves as a meeting location for groups of students working on team projects. Many students also use this lab to work on supplemental learning projects to enhance their understanding of class and lab assignments.

At the end of project Lab students become able to interpret results of analysis of physical systems, components, or processes, and utilize physical insight to check to check for realistic outcomes. Students become able to use technique, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.



Students will design, implement and analyze basic circuits. Experiments include: Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws, series and parallel resistors, voltage and current dividers, delta-wye configurations, mesh-current and node-voltage analysis, superposition and Thevenin equivalents, series RL, RC and RLC circuits.

Students become able to apply this knowledge to the analysis and design of basic Electrical circuits. Students can demonstrate the categories in the field of electronic circuits theoretically and practically.



This lab is to design and implement an electric circuit and evaluate its response and different parameters. Students become able to implement, design and test different control algorithms. Students can plot and explain the data in different 2-D/3D graphics using different colors, line styles and markers.



Power system Laboratory comprises of protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for overcurrent, over frequency, under frequency, under voltage, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays.

In this lab Students understand the principle and functioning of electromechanical relays and voltage distribution in high voltage transmission lines. They can analyze the operation of various relays for various faults in power system Network. & can describe the modeling of transmission lines & hence the cause effect.



The Electrical Measurement Lab in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department has the objective to explain the student with the operation of basic laboratory instrumentation such as Energy meter, multimeter, frequency counter, voltmeter, Ammeter etc. Another goal is to re-enforce theoretical knowledge with practice and vice-versa. In this lab students understand the operation and control of DC series shunt motor, single-phase transformers and two three-phase transformers in parallel.
