National Level Fest “Esportes 2018”

RIET’s ANNUAL NATIONAL LEVEL SPORTS meet has been started from today i.e 17 th Feb 2018 and it will end on 19th Feb 2018.The meet started with the inaugural function on 17th Feb. The chief guest on the occasion was Shri Lovmeet Kataria (National Level Volleyball Player) who is a member of Men’s National Volleyball Team. He has led the Rajasthan Men’s Team in the Indian National Volleyball Meet, and the Indian Men’s Team in the Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship. He has won gold medal in 12th south Asian games winning the best blocker award. He won silver medal in 2014 Asia Cup.

Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, along with all the respective HODs and faculty members encouraged the participants on this day. Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, said during the inaugural function that the three day sports extravaganza (17th, 18th and 19th Feb, 2018) will witness a huge participation from across Rajasthan. As per registrations received,more than 100 Teams from various colleges and universities of Jaipur will participate in this athletic meet in the next two days. Some of the participants from other states will also be participating.

In her speech on the occasion of the inauguration event Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, said that extra-curricular activities including sports are an essential ingredient of the overall education process. As they say, sound bodies possess sound minds. The organization is happy and proud on what the students have achieved both in studies and in athletics.

Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, said that, Participation in sports can help build self-esteem, confidence and can motivate students to excel academically and can help build their social skills. It can even teach young learners the ways and benefits of goal setting & practice.

Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, encouraged all participants and congratulated all the contestants.

The inaugural event ended with a happy note with eager awareness of the coming two days of sports full of all sorts of games and enjoyment.
