Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology organized a seminar on “Short films and Documentary” on 24.1.18. Eminent guests graced the occasion that were connected with the film industry. The guests and speakers on this occasion were Shri V V Maheshwar Rao, from the International Film Festivals, India, Mr Qudrathuallh Tagahi, Film maker, Actor, Producer & Director from Afghanistan, Ms Isabelle Balducchi, Writer, Director, Producer of Documentary and short films of Zia Maria Films of France.
The event was inaugurated with the traditional lamp lightening ceremony by all the dignitaries. Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, Prof. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, felicitated the guests and welcomed them. Students of 1st and 2nd year along with all the respective HODs and faculty members attended the event.
Short films from France, Germany, Israel, and Afghanistan were screened which was appreciated by all. Shri V VMaheshwarRao, who is connected with the International Film Festivals, India, spoke about film making, music and dance and action in the films. He also spoke about many films of the 70s and 80s which have been very popular in various countries in the world for their music, dance and story. He also said that some actors and actresses have been popular too and are still appreciated for their performances in the movies of the by-gone era. Ms Isabelle Balducchi, Writer, Director, Producer of Documentary and short filmsof Zia Maria Films of Francealso spoke about her experiences regarding film making.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, said that students get to know a lot about film making and various activities related to the industry by attending such seminars. Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics & Admin also highly appreciated the guests and the short films and documentaries which were screened.
The event ended with a high applause from the students who were very happy to attend this occurrence.
