FDP conducted on “SOLAR PV SYSTEM”

Date : 28 Apr 2024 | Category : News

The Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Department of EE, conducted a seminar under the TEQIP phase III on the topic SOLAR PV: DESIGN AND APPLICATIONS on 6.9.19. This seminar was enhanced by Prof Santosh Sharma, from EE department of
Rajasthan Technical University of kota. On the onset of the programme Principal RIET, Dr Saroj Hiranwal extended felicitations and welcome to the guests. Speaking on the occasion she said that solar photovoltaic system or solar power
system is one of renewable energy system which uses PV modules to convert sunlight into electricity. The electricity generated can be stored or used directly, fed back into grid line or combined with one or more other electricity generators or more renewable energy source. Solar PV system is very reliable and clean source of electricity that can suit a wide
range of applications such as residence, industry, agriculture, livestock, etc.
More than 40 faculty members participated in this seminar from various Educational organizations. On the day three important sessions took place each facilitated by eminent experts from reputed organizations.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr Pushpendra Singh professor at the JKLU, Jaipur. He enlightened everyone about the need, working and other basic fundamentals of solar system. He said that PV systems range from small, rooftop-mounted or building-integrated systems with capacities from a few to several tens of kilowatts, to large utility-scale
power stations of hundreds of megawatts. Nowadays, most PV systems are grid-connected, while off-grid or stand-alone systems account for a small portion of the market. Operating silently and without any moving parts or environmental emissions, PV systems have developed from being niche market applications into a mature technology used for mainstream electricity
generation. A rooftop system recoups the invested energy for its manufacturing and installation of net clean renewable energy over a service lifetime.
In the Post Lunch session Mr Bhawani Singh Director Prime vision Automation Solution delivered his lecture on INSTALLATIONS AND DESIGNING OF SOLAR PV SYSTEMS. He demonstrated with the hardware components. The hardware installations were very well
received by the participants. He also said that programs like these aim at training people in installation, operation and maintenance of solar PV systems. The program is useful for entrepreneurs and engineers working in the field.
HOD EE Prof Ashish Jaiswal also expressed his views saying that these programs are useful for engineers in various disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Sciences and Electrical & Electronics. The session ended with interactions among various faculty members, participants and speakers over a high-tea, which gave them an opportunity to exchange views with each other.
