Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology (RIET, Jaipur) is one among the few Research Centres in Rajasthan established under the affiliation of Rajasthan Technical University for offering Ph.D. programs in Engineering disciplines.

The Admissions in the Ph.D. course can be applied through RTU-DAT (Doctoral Admission Test) conducted by RTU in the month of May-June every Year. The candidate seeking admission in the Ph.D. courses can apply directly through the online form provided at the link http://www.rtu.ac.in/RTU/DAT. After successful registration, the candidates have to appear in an Entrance Exam to be conducted at RTU, Kota. The written examination for RTU-DAT shall consist of 100 multiple choice questions of two & half hour duration in which a set of 50 questions will be based on Research Methodology and another set of 50 questions for Specialization paper. Candidates are required to fill the answer on the OMR sheet pattern. The syllabus for Research Methodology and Specialization paper is available on the RTU web site.

The establishment of the Research center at RIET has been made with a vision to promote the culture of research and development as an integral part of higher education institutions. The Ph.D. course at RIET is duly approved by AICTE and Affiliated by RTU.
