Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology Jaipur organized a Blood Donation Camp in the college premises on 02.10.19.This mega camp was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of our Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
The chief guest on this occasion was Chairman RIET, Ku Bheem Singh Ji. He encouraged all the donors on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he said that Blood makes up about 7 percent of our body’s weight. The gift of blood is the gift of life. There is no substitute for human blood. Every two seconds someone needs blood. Keeping all these facts in view, RIET conducted this mega blood donation this pragmatic event on 02.10.19.

Principal, RIET Prof. (Dr.) Saroj Hiranwal addressed the gathering with her welcome speech and briefed about the importance of blood donation. She said that Blood Donation Camp is like a blessing on this particular day and further added that Blood cannot be manufactured – it can only come from generous donors and to save the society and mankind we all should come forwards for this noble cause. She thanked all the donors for the noble step they have taken to donate blood and help their fellow brethren.
Chairman RIET, Ku Bheem Singh Ji said that donating blood is a safe process and donors don’t get any side effects as a sterile needle is used only once for each donor and then discarded. Every blood donor is given a mini-physical test, checking the donor’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse and hemoglobin to ensure it is safe for the donor to give blood. The donor can only donate when he/she clears all these tests successfully.
Dean Academics RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, urged everyone to come out of the myths of feeling nervous and getting sick after blood donation. One donation can help save the lives of up to three people. He further stated that every adult human being (male or female) has 5 to 6 liters of blood. Any person between 18 and 60 years, weighing 45 kg or more can safely donate one unit of blood, that is, 350 ml at a time.
The blood donation was administered by an eminent team of doctors and efficient team of nurses, paramedics and other staff.
A cluster of over 100 students of RIET congregated in the campus to participate in this social cause.
A large number of faculty members from RIET participated in the event and voluntarily donated blood. It was surprising to see excited and enthusiastic students in large numbers lined up for the cause.
Refreshments were provided to the donors as essential for the body. The college management took immense care to meet the requirements of students after donating the blood, so as to avoid any mishaps in the campus. One of the students said,” It feels great to participate in the event and I feel the urge to donate blood as it is such a noble cause”. The camp was organized in a much disciplined manner checking each and every aspect of donor’s health.
The faction packed up in the evening at 4.00pm. A total of 100 units of blood were collected in the entire day. A noble cause was duly and successfully fulfilled.
