Expert Lecture on “Optimization of Energy in Industrial System”

Date : 19 Apr 2024 | Category : Event

The Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology organized TEQIP-III sponsored an Expert Lecture on “Optimization of Energy in Industrial system on 09.03.18. Eminent guest speaker who graced the occasion was Prof. (Dr.) Satyasheel, PhD IIT D 1982, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Institute of Engineering & Technology, GLA, University, Mathura, UP. Dr Satyasheel was welcomed by , Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma and Prof Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET. The session was attended by all HODs, students and faculty members of RIET.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Satyasheel explained that Industrial systems are concerned with the organization and effective utilization of available resources of modern manufacturing and process in the industries so as to minimize wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. It is thus clear that optimization in industrial systems is crucial for the competiveness of any industry in a highly competitive economic environment. Consequently, how to utilize advanced modeling and optimization technologies as well as to develop new modeling and optimizations methods to design and manage these systems has attracted the interest of many mathematicians, engineers, and practitioners.

He also added that this provides an overall approach to energy management and places the technical issues that drive energy efficiency in context

Dr Saroj Hiranwal, Principal RIET, said that recently many issues have resulted in renewed interest in reducing and managing energy consumption by industries in all areas of the world. These include concerns about CO2 emissions, cost reduction in the current financial slowdown, and energy security among others. One of the best ways to address all of these issues simultaneously is to improve the energy efficiency of existing operations.

Dean Academics & Admin, RIET, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma said that an effective energy management program for manufacturers – that is, one that enables an organization to reduce energy consumption through systematic actions – is multifaceted in that it must involve many people and functions in an organization.

Prof Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, expressed his gratitude to Dr Satyasheel for giving his valuable time and imparting this knowledge. He also added that expert lectures of this kind helps the students and faculty members to remain updated in this field.

The expert talk was organized by department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with association Rajasthan technical university  in Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur.
