The Department of Information Technology is established in year 2000. The Department offers Four year B.Tech. The constant merits in university results reflects its position among all the RTU affiliated Engineering colleges in Rajasthan. The department has several tie-ups with companies of international repute to bridge the gap between university course curriculum and latest technologies, as it is a discipline where technologies and solution architectures change rapidly.

IT Dept. has particularly strong links with professionals in the IT industry and the course offered have a strong professional orientation CSE department conducts path breaking and innovative research in various spheres. This research has been facilitated by various Centers of Excellence and support of the faculty, through published books, articles and research papers on various topics. Our research program is also supported by high-tech laboratories which act as ideal training platform for budding professionals that allow students to experiment and gain practical knowledge..

The Computer Science and Engineering Department of Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology has always made its presence felt in the educational arena through its accomplishments. The Information Technology major gives students access to multidisciplinary problems with a focus on total systems engineering. Students will learn the information technology principles that are critical to development of software, hardware and networking of computer systems. This program is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of information technology, both hardware and software, and the application of engineering concepts, techniques and methods to both computer systems engineering and software system design.

This laboratory has state of art softwares and hardware needed for some of the most common and popular technologies. In this laboratory student of B.Tech final year and M.Tech work on their major projects. The laboratory is well equipped with Turbo C++ IDE, JDK, PHP and .Net Framework. It provides with network simulator, on which students can perform simulation on different layers of network like data link layer, network layer etc.



Operating systems lab provide the basic functionality on every computer that allows any type of application software to be run. For computer science students it is crucial to know and understand the principal concepts and mechanisms of operating systems.

This understanding helps them to efficiently use programming languages to develop software built on top of the operating system. This also applies to students working in other fields related to information technology, who could benefit greatly from a deeper knowledge of operating system internals.



Laboratory is equipped with Turbo C++ IDE and JDK. These can be used for developing portable application software and various kinds of data structures like stack, link-list, trees etc.



This Laboratory works on the Unified Modeling Language (UML). It is a visual modeling language that enables system builders to create blueprints that capture their visions in a standard, easy-to-understand way and provides a mechanism to effectively share and communicate these visions with others. In this laboratory students develop the softwares using software engineering methodology.



Database Laboratory is aimed at facilitating and improving the usability of database. The core focus on the design of database and writing applications for manipulation of data for a stand alone and shared data base including concepts like concurrency control, transaction roll back, logging, report generation etc.

The laboratory works on SQL and ORACLE.



The laboratory works on Open Graphics Library (OpenGL).

OpenGL provides a set of drawing tools through a collection of functions that are known as within an application. It provides a thorough treatment in the field of computer graphics, multimedia as well as in simulation and virtual reality.

It also provides the development of virtual and augmented reality applications, grid computing and interactive learning systems.



This Laboratory introduces the underlying concepts behind networking using the Internet and its protocols. Objective of this lab is to make the students understand how networks especially the Internet work.

Information technology, who could benefit greatly from a deeper knowledge of operating system internals.



To understand the internal organization of INTEL 8085, 8086 and 8051 Microprocessors and Assembly Language Programs using the instruction sets of processors and to study the interfacing of the processor with various peripheral devices.

Microprocessor laboratory is equipped with microprocessor kits and interfacing devices. The students achieve encoding skills in Assembly Language and Interfacing with various devices.

The students have in depth knowledge in writing and executing 8086 8085 and 8051 Assembly Language programs.
